Carport Ambient
An aluminium carport for two cars
Carport Ambient is a free-standing aluminium structure for two vehicles. Six 150 x 150 mm posts carry an insulated roof made of sandwich panels. The panels overlap and rainwater drains through the gutter in the beams and down through the posts into the ground. Under the 6 x 5.3 m roof you can park two passenger cars.
Powder-coated aluminium does not rust; occasional cleaning with water is enough.
150 x 150 mm posts and 195 x 120 mm beams
Posts made of 2.1 mm thick aluminium and 195 x 120 mm beams form a rigid structure. The roof is designed for 80 kg of snow per square metre and the structure for wind of up to 80 km/h. The surface is powder-coated in anthracite (RAL 7024).
Sandwich panels with polyurethane foam
The roof is made of sandwich panels: an outer layer of galvanised steel with 30 mm of polyurethane foam in between. The insulated roof reduces heat build-up under the carport on hot days.
Water drainage through the posts
Rainwater from the roof runs into the gutter in the beams and from there down through the posts into the ground. Each post has four outlets. In extremely heavy rain the excess may overflow the edge of the roof. Clear leaves from the gutter and outlets from time to time.
Fixed to the base
Six aluminium posts are fixed to a solid base, a concrete slab or point foundations. The kit for fixing the carport to the ground is included.
