Roof and water drainage
Insulated roof, drainage through the posts
The roof is made of overlapping sandwich panels: an outer layer of galvanised steel with 30 mm of polyurethane foam in between. The insulated roof reduces heat build-up under the carport on hot days. Rainwater from the roof runs into the gutter in the beams and from there down into the ground.

How many vehicles is it suitable for?
For one passenger car. The roof measures 3.09 x 5.26 m and there is 279 x 496 cm of space between the posts. The version with storage room also has an enclosed 3 x 2.55 m storage space at the side.
How much snow and wind does it take?
The roof is designed for 80 kg of snow per square metre and the structure is tested for wind of up to 100 km/h. If more than 50 cm of snow builds up, remove it from the roof.
Where does the rainwater go?
Through the gutter in the beams and down through the posts into the ground; every post has four outlets. In extremely heavy rain the excess may overflow the edge of the roof.
What base do I need?
A level, solid base: a concrete slab or point foundations.
Can I assemble it myself?
Yes. All parts and the kit for fixing to the ground are included, every part is labelled and detailed instructions are supplied.
What maintenance does it need?
Aluminium does not rust; occasional cleaning and clearing leaves from the gutters is enough.
What is the storage room for in the version with storage room?
An enclosed 3 x 2.55 m space next to the carport for garden tools and equipment. The walls are made of 28 mm WPC boards and the door is aluminium.
